I came from a show jumping background where I competed at a national and international level for many years. In recent years  I have focused on breeding and training young sport horses to sell  from our Bay of Islands property.

Breeding Philosophy

The aim of  Waitangi Stud is to breed horses that are trainable, have excellent temperaments, conformation, movement and jumping ability, and bloodlines that are recognised for their performance.

All young stock are well handled from day one and after weaning run out on the hills over our 2000 acre farm which allows them to develop balance and learn how to be horses.
Our focus is to produce versatile animals that will go on to compete at any chosen discipline.

Waitangi Stud firmly believes that the mares are responsible for more than 50% of the resulting progeny. Because of this Waitangi only breeds from proven mares that have either competed successfully themselves or have progeny competing at a high level.

Where it all started

Dolly Gray was our foundation mare and deserves special mention here as she was a talented show-jumping mare and then went on to be an even better broodmare being the dam of Internet (our foundation sire), Tactics, Petanque, and Mrs Robinson.
